About E-Learning: How is video best
integrated into an e-learning environment?
Video is
best integrated into an e-learning environment using MPEG 4 or Flash video
formats. Flash video is ideal in that the video can be made to stream, and
therefore does not require loading and buffering of the video file…Flash video
provides “video on demand”. In either case, video files should incorporate a
video player that allows the student to stop and rewind the video. In general,
video files should not auto-play since the student may not have his or her
computer’s audio turned on. It is best to keep video files in segments of five
minutes or less. It is better to have multiple video files of short length than
one long video file.
