About E-Learning: What are “tasks” within an e-learning environment?

Tasks are assignments to be accomplished outside of the e-learning environment. A task can be as simple as directing the student to correspond within the virtual classroom forum, or as complex as completing a practicum or essay that is then reported to the course mentor. In many e-learning environments, tasks may have the option of being graded elements within the course.
